WEDNESDAY  7th Oct

 Having settled in, we went shopping in Souda, visited the Archaeological site of Aptera, explored the byways of Megala Chorafia, (renamed Aptera) and had the evening meal at the Aptera Taverna courtesy Pure Crete.

We visited a mountain habitat with crocuses and daphne and looked down the Samarian Gorge and visited the dried out Omalos Plain

We explored Hania old town; the shops and museums. then to the sea shore, Afternoon: Agia Reservoir, Stilos,  St Nicholas Hiliomoudo and the Taverna Limonas Bygone Centre followed by a Cretan meal there.

We visited Vrisse and moist lowland areas, Lake Kournas  Armenoi Tombs, Beach at Petres Bridge and Asprouliani Dunes  Georgioupoli Spring and for a beer the harbour cafe. Then to Maza, to see the Chapel,  the Raki still and have a Cretan Meal
